Salman Khan’s defamation suit against his neighbour is becoming more venomous by the day. During the most recent session, Salman, through his lawyer, accused the neighbour of bringing his religious identity into the argument needlessly.

Salman has launched a civil suit in which he claims that Ketan Kakkad, who owns a plot of property near the actor’s farmhouse in Panvel, near Mumbai, defamed him during an interview with a YouTube channel.

According to Live Law, the actor’s lawyer Pradeep Gandhi read out significant chunks of Ketan Kakkad’s posts and interviews in front of the court on Thursday. He claimed that Ketan accused the actor of being a ‘front for the D Gang, commenting on his religious identity and implying that he was connected to the ruling party at the central and state levels, levelling allegations of child trafficking, and further alleging that bodies of film stars are buried in his farmhouse.’

Salman, through his lawyer, reacted, saying, “All of these charges are a fabrication of the defendant’s imagination without appropriate proof. Why are you destroying my personal character in a property dispute? Why are you putting religion into this? My mother is Hindu, my father is Muslim, and both of my brothers married Hindus. We observe all festivals.”

He went on to say, “To make such accusations, you are an educated person, not a Gunda-chhap. Nowadays, the simplest thing to do is organize a group of people, go on social media, and vent your rage.” He went on to say that he had no plans to enter politics.

Salman Khan has a property in Panvel, Mumbai’s neighbouring Raigad district, where he resides in the Bandra suburbs. Kakkad, who lives in Mumbai, owns a site close to Khan’s home on a hill. Salman’s complaint claims that while conversing to a YouTuber, Ketan made defamatory remarks against the actor.

Salman Khan has also named YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and Google as defendants in the lawsuit, requesting that the ‘defamatory content’ be blocked and removed from their platforms. Salman is seeking a permanent injunction prohibiting Ketan from posting or distributing derogatory information about him or his farm.
