Singer and rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh failed to appear before Delhi Court today, August 28. Singh’s wife Shalini charged domestic violence case filed against him earlier this month. His counsel has cited health-related issues as the reason for his absence. This is for the second time that Honey Singh has missed a court hearing.

Now, the Delhi Court has now ordered the singer to appear for the hearing, on September 3, stating the message “no one is above the law”. On August 3, Shalini Talwar filed a domestic violence case at Tiz Hazari Court against her husband Yo Yo Honey Singh.

Earlier, Singh had issued an official statement on social media on the same case. Refuting all the allegations, the singer called the charges ‘false and malicious’. A part of his post read, “I have never issued a public statement or press note in the past despite being subjected to harsh criticism for my lyrics, speculation on my health, & negative media coverage in general.”

“However, I see no merit in maintaining a studied silence this time because some of the allegations have been directed at my family my old parents, and younger sister who have stood by me during some very difficult and trying times and comprise my world. The allegations are cynical and defaming in nature,” the singer added.

Shalini Talwar has alleged mental harassment, cheating, sexual violence, and financial fraud against Yo Yo Honey Singh.
