Diljit Dosanjh is the most recent addition to the list of Indian actors who have worked in overseas projects. The actor-singer has joined the cast of the animated series Fables, alongside some of Hollywood’s biggest talents. He will contribute his voice to the endeavour.

Ricky Gervais, Jemaine Clement, Natasha Lyonne, JB Smoove, Roman Griffin Davis, Alexa Demie, and Zach Woods were among the other artists engaged in the project. Diljit expressed his enthusiasm for becoming a part of the project.

Diljit captioned a news item on Instagram, “‘Fables Aa Riha Oye… (Hey, Fables is coming)”. He also highlighted the names of the production company, Bron Digital, which is known for projects such as Joker, Judas, and Black Messiah, as well as his own name, which was featured alongside his recent song Honsla Rakh. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fables will be Bron Digital’s first animated endeavour, launching the banner’s animation department. The project will include modern versions of classic stories such as The Tortoise and the Hare, The Lion and the Mouse, and The Boy Who Cried Wolf, as well as new twists. The stories will be narrated by Richard Gervais.

Diljit’s Hollywood connections had previously been limited to his admiration for actors Gal Gadot and Kylie Jenner. The Udta Punjab actor has shown his admiration for them by commenting on their Instagram images and even dedicating a song to Kylie Jenner. He’ll be rubbing shoulders with some of Hollywood’s biggest personalities in the near future.

In the meantime, Diljit is making headlines thanks to the success of Honsla Rakh. The romantic comedy, which also stars Sonam Bajwa and Shehnaaz Gill, was released on October 15.

The film is estimated to have grossed $50 million worldwide, including roughly $40 million in India in its first two weeks, making it one of Punjabi cinema’s all-time top earners.
