The royal family seems to be missing Prince Philip. In response to a condolence message, Prince William and Kate Middleton opened up about the tough time they had following Prince Philip’s death. As per the Gert’s Royal Replies, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge responded to their condolence message by writing that the good thoughts offered to them, which had comforted them following Prince Philip’s death in April.

According to People, The response, which arrived in an envelope with a Royal mail stamp and the Kensington Palace logo, was a folded card with Prince William and Kate’s individual monograms on the outside. Inside is a photo of Prince Philip in military uniform from the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Armed Forces Parade and Muster at Windsor Castle in 2012. There is also a typed note, and both pages are framed with a black border to symbolise mourning.

The typed note reads, “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge thank you for your kind words following the death of The Duke of Edinburgh. Their Royal Highnesses have been incredibly moved by the many thoughtful messages they have received in recent weeks. They will all miss their much loved grandfather and great-grandfather, but your message has provided great comfort at this difficult time.”

Philip died on April 9, at the age of 99, after a month-long stay in a hospital for heart surgery, though his death was described as very gentle and very peaceful. But during his death many people gave their condolence messages by reaching out to the Royal family.

Prince William and Kate had earlier shared their sorrow over their grandfather’s death on social media by posting flashback images of the Duke of Edinburgh as well as a message in his remembrance.
