South Korean actor Kim Sae Ron, who rose to popularity after acting in Won Bin’s ‘The Man from Nowhere,’ was arrested for drunk driving at the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul. She was apprehended after the police received many reports of violations of the Road Safety Act on the streets of Gangnam’s Cheongdam neighborhood. While driving under the influence, she reportedly collided with a transformer box and a guard rail.

Kim’s management company, Gold Medalist, issued a formal statement in response to the allegations. It wrote, “We deeply regret for raising concern as a result of our actor Kim Sae Ron’s drunk driving accident. Kim Sae Ron is thinking about her faults. Furthermore, Kim Sae Ron expresses her heartfelt condolences to the many individuals who have been harmed or inconvenienced, as well as to all those who are working tirelessly to rebuild the damaged public facilities, and she promises to do everything she can to remedy the damage. Kim Sae Ron was released following a blood test yesterday (18th) and would cooperate fully with the police inquiry.”

She was arrested and given a breathalyser test, which came up positive. She allegedly demanded to be transferred to a hospital for a blood test despite the fact that her alcohol level was measured on the spot.

“We, too, bear significant responsibility for the occurrence of such a tragedy,” she continued. Kim was fired from her forthcoming drama Trolley shortly after the event, and the show’s producers are seeking for a replacement.

Kim Sae Ron debuted in the South Korean film industry as a child actor in 2009 with the film A Brand-New Life. She previously appeared in the K-drama Secret Healer and will next be seen in Netflix’s upcoming Korean series Hounds.
