Jessica Jung is most known for being a former member of the South Korean girl group Girls’ Generation, but she’s now the owner of her own fashion line, Blanc & Eclare.

The 32-year-old singer-turned-entrepreneur, who describes herself as a “adventurer,” claimed the shift from entertainment to fashion was “natural,” and that she “had a fantastic following in the fashion industry.”

Being a social media influencer proved to be a full-time job for her, with over 9.9 million Instagram followers.

It can be difficult at times, according to Jung, especially when searching for a vacation from work. “You simply have to stay up with social media because it moves so quickly.”

Jung, who was chosen global brand ambassador for cosmetics firm Revlon in 2020, believes that keeping a personal connection with followers is critical when it comes to becoming the face of a business.

She claims that a healthy blend of branded and personal material on social media is beneficial.

“If I have branded stuff that needs to be shared, I share it. Then I’d certainly publish a few of actual everyday activities and fashion, things that my fans and followers would be interested in seeing,” Jung added.

According to music licensing provider Lickd.co’s “Social Salary Calculator,” social media influencers with over 100,000 Instagram followers may earn over $4,000 each Instagram post.

She has loved her time in South Korea, despite not being able to travel as often as she used to. “I didn’t think I’d enjoy it as much as I do, but I do because I didn’t realize how much I missed home. I was able to focus on myself, both emotionally and physically.”

Jung will release fresh singles throughout the year, leading up to the release of an album, which was previously postponed due to Covid-19.
