Mysterious creatures were spotted on a beach, terrifying and perplexing netizens as the images went viral.

Because the ocean is mostly undiscovered by humans, we will never know what lies under the waves. Many people think that the ocean has a thousand more undiscovered animal and fish species, some of which are terrifying and unusual.

When someone saw one of these odd creatures washing up on the shore, it attracted the attention of the public. The never-before-seen creature went viral on the internet, with many asking where it came from and what it is.

The mystery creature was discovered on Kemp Beach in Yeppoon, Queensland, Australia, on the southern portion of the Great Barrier Reef. People were perplexed by the unusual blob that washed up on the shore, and they were left speculating as to what it was.

The monster was photographed and shared on the Australia Native Animals official Facebook page, where it was characterised as a “sunburned” blob resting in the ocean’s low tide. People began speculating about the monster as soon as they saw it in the comments section.

The widespread consensus on the creature’s identity was that it was a tomato jellyfish. “Agree – obviously a jellyfish,” one Facebook remark says. Although it seems to be sunburned, one observer nicknamed it the ‘Peter Sterling fish,’ also known as the blobfish.

After the public speculated on what the unusual blob may be, scientists stepped in to reveal what species the strange blob belonged to. According to a marine scientist, the organism belonged to the jellyfish family.

The monster was most certainly a lion’s mane cyanea barkeri jellyfish, according to Dr Lisa Gershwin, director of Australian Marine Stinger Advisory Services, putting an end to the dispute. The jellyfish’s body is chocolate brown, according to the marine researcher, and it can be found all across Queensland.
