Three police constables from Gujarat’s Kutch area had their musical journey taken a strange turn when their viral dance video resulted in their suspension.

The three officers were suspended on Wednesday after a video went viral showing them listening to music while driving while breaking traffic regulations and violating Covid standards.

In a news release, Kutch-East Superintendent of Police Mayur Patil said the ‘dancing’ constables were engaging in “indecent conduct, breaching traffic laws, and participating in actions that damaged the image of the police.”

While travelling in a vehicle, the constables, identified as Jagdish Solanki, Haresh Chaudhari, and Raja Hiragar, were swaying to the music and singing. Only three of the four constables in the vehicle had been suspended.

These officers not only broke traffic laws, but they also didn’t have any face masks on.

“A viral video was brought to light by media and numerous social media outlets in which police officials can be seen dancing on tunes, while wearing a police uniform, inside a four-wheeler,” according to the Indian Express. Such activities of breaching traffic restrictions while driving is unsuitable for a disciplined agency and give the police a poor name.

Three of the police officers who have been suspended are from the Gandhi Dham A division police station, according to the statement.

“Three officers assigned to Gandhidham A division police station have been suspended with immediate effect, while a letter has been issued to Superintendent of Police Banaskantha recommending disciplinary action against the fourth officer assigned to Banaskantha police,” according to the statement.

The footage was presumably taken on a cell phone by one of the officers. This adventure took place at an unknown time.
