The women hockey team has made India proud after its splendid win in the ongoing Tokyo Olympics 2020. It was indeed a pride moment of India after the women hockey team secured the spot of world No 2 Australian team by beating them 1-0 in the quarter final on Monday. The Indian women hockey team created history by securing the place in semifinals for the first time in the Olympic. Since their win the social media is immersed with tweets hailing the players for the Indian women hockey team. The netizens have started remembering the scene from movie ‘Chak De India’ and have compared Coach Sjoerd Marijne to Shah Rukh Khan’s character of Kabir Khan.

Coach Sjoerd Marijne’s proud moment and hard work towards the women hockey team was compared to Kabir Khan’s character in the movie. While the winning shot and pictures from the game against Australia is going viral on social media, the netizens are recalling Kabir Khan’s emotional moment from movie Chak De India. One Twitter user wrote “Two people who transformed Indian women’s hockey team. Kabir Khan (reel life). Sjoerd Marijne (real life),” wherein the other wrote, “Taking a team which didn’t win a single game in Rio 2016 to beating Australia to reach Semis in Tokyo 2020, take a bow Sjoerd Marijne. Applaud this man, award this man. The Real life Kabir Khan. #Hockey Flag of India”.

In the meantime, many congratulation messages are poured by the citizens wishing the team over their great win. Cricketer Sachin Tendulkar also congratulated the team on his social media handle and stated, “Yesterday the men’s hockey team, today the women’s hockey team… Absolutely loving it. Well done to the women’s team for making it to the #Olympics semi-finals for the first time ever! The whole nation is behind you! #Hockey #Tokyo2020 #TeamIndia”.
