BTS pop star Jimin is well-loved not only in South Korea, but also around the world. Jim has once again won the hearts of his army by secretly donating 100 million won (approximately 84,200 USD) to a Gosung Rotary Club fundraising campaign, which is developing vaccines to eradicate polio. Jimin made the donation ahead of World Polio Day to help polio patients.
According to ETimes, the pop star kept the donation a secret by donating the money through his father without telling anyone in July. A fan discovered the news after noticing a banner by the Gosung Rotary Club thanking Jimin for his noble gesture. Gosung is located in South Korea’s South Gyeongsang Province, which is close to Jimin’s hometown of Busan.
Following the news of the K-pop star’s donation, his ARMY went abuzz on Twitter, praising him for his great deed and calling him the “sweetest angel.” One Twitter user wrote, “’m so proud of jimin. He got nervous but he took a brief moment, humbly said sorry and thn took a deep breath before continuing his speech…… That was so heartwarming and He did so well.” Meanwhile, another user said, “I just heard abt jimin’s donation to a rotary club that fights polio he’s literally the sweetest angel.”
In terms of Jimin’s contribution to a worthy cause, the singer has previously also made donations secretly to a worthy cause. Previously, he contributed significantly to his alma mater, Busan High School of Arts, the Jeonnam Future Education Foundation, the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, and various other organisations.
