In the Mumbai cruise ship rave party case, where Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan’s son was detained and sent to one-day NCB detention, NCB chairman SN Pradhan stated on Sunday that the agency is investigating into a larger Bollywood link.
The NCB has expanded its probe, according to Pradhan, and has summoned the party’s organisers and event coordinators. The agency is also looking into the ship’s crew and a few foreign nationals.
On Saturday night, the NCB raided a cruise ship headed for Goa in Mumbai. Officials recovered cocaine, MD (mephedrone), charas, and MDMA during the operation (ecstasy).
“There is a Bollywood link, and we are looking at the case from all sides. We’re looking into the main supplier as well as the whole drug gang involved in this case “Pradhan informed the PTI news agency. He also stated that the inquiry will be conducted professionally. The NCB head stated that the agency put out significant effort and spent time following up on leads before entering the cruise ship as guests and carrying out the operations.
The NCB apprehended Aryan Khan, son of Bollywood celebrity Shah Rukh Khan, and seven other individuals early Sunday. Aryan Khan, Arbaz Seth Merchant, and Munmun Dhamecha were detained later that day. All three have been remanded in NCB detention until Monday (October 4), with a hearing scheduled for that afternoon.
According to PTI, which cited sources, the remaining five are being questioned and might be detained if incriminating evidence is discovered against them under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS).
