The ‘Ache Din’ is returning for Bollywood. It’s back to normal in theatres 20 months after a box office no-show with just a few of flicks [Bellbottom, Roohi] achieving any form of footfalls. Sooryavanshi Diwali release has achieved what many biggies strive for: rapid entry into the Rs. 100 crore club. This is exactly what occurred to the action entertainment Sooryavanshi, which achieved a century in just 5 days.
It earned Rs. 11.22 crores more on Tuesday, extending its double-digit streak. As a consequence, the film’s total box office receipts have reached Rs. 102.81 crores, which is rather amazing. What’s more encouraging is that the film has been trending well from its massive opening day (Diwali) through the fifth (a regular weekday). To think about it, if not for the 50 percent cap in Maharashtra, Haryana, and Madhya Pradesh (among a few other states), as well as night curfews in a few other areas, the Akshay Kumar blockbuster could have done a lot better. Even yet, it stands tall and collects admirably.
This is exactly the type of result that would make Akshay Kumar and Rohit Shetty celebrate. They were the ones who had to wait the longest for the picture to be released, since Sooryavanshi promo was the last to be published prior to the epidemic, and then they had to keep audiences interested for a period of 20 months. There were additional videos that were ready, but the promo was never published, thus there was never a possibility of the product becoming outmoded. This fear component has to be addressed in the instance of Sooryavanshi.
It will now be interesting to watch where it goes from here, given its rightful success and high entertainment value. A total of about Rs. 175 crores are in the works, but if it can surpass that and break into the Rs. 200 crore club, it will be a cause for celebration for the whole Bollywood industry.
