Tadap, a film by Milan Luthria, will premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on January 28. In December, the film featuring rookie Ahan Shetty and Tara Sutaria was released in theatres. It brought in almost Rs. 30 crore, which is a respectable sum in these epidemic times.

“We took a risk, and I believe it paid off,” says Ahan Shetty, son of Bollywood actress Suniel Shetty. “I got a lot of intriguing reactions beyond the box office data.” It was also great to receive calls from celebrities like Rohit Shetty and Sanjay Dutt praising me.”

Tadap, a remake of RX 100, received backlash for propagating sexist tropes. Many others thought the film’s key ‘twist’ turned it into a violent vengeance fantasy against women.

While Ahan respects all viewpoints and welcomes criticism, he claims that the film was not made with the intention of harming anyone.

“Our movie was inspired by a genuine story.” Things like this actually occur in real life. It was never our goal to damage anyone’s feelings.” He has, however, absorbed “what others have said” and wishes to learn from “little and large blunders.”

Action blockbusters don’t belong on OTT platforms, according to Ahan. Still, he’s ecstatic that folks who couldn’t make it to the movies can watch it now.

“As this is my first film, I want all of the praise and criticism to help me figure out what I want to do next,” adds Ahan, who has a multi-picture deal with Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment.

“There are a variety of projects in the works,” says the narrator “He talks about his next project. “Within a month or two, we’ll make an announcement.”
