The children that engaged with the Prime Minister were ecstatic to acquire his autograph.

The Indian diaspora greeted PM Modi with chants of “Bharat Ma ka sher” (India’s lion).

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in Tokyo, Japan, for a two-day visit that began on Monday, May 23, at the request of Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida to attend the Quad Leaders’ Summit. PM Modi is attending his second Quad meeting in person.

The Quad’s goal is to improve collaboration among the powerful grouping’s members and debate trends in the Indo-Pacific region. PM Modi will meet with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, US President Joe Biden, and newly elected Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese during his two-day visit.

The Quad conference is anticipated to address major security challenges in the Indo-Pacific region. Peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait are important to all members. The US government, led by Vice President Joe Biden, is focused on conveying a deterrent message to Taiwan.

“Quad has a good, constructive objective,” Indian Ambassador to Japan Sanjay Kumar Verma said. “We don’t target a nation or area for that.” What we want for is that peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific area be maintained.”
