Brahmastra’s newly released trailer has piqued the public’s curiosity and elicited a lot of good feedback. However, a moment appears to have gotten a lot of attention, as some of them have expressed their displeasure with it. While the film is an Indian mythological fantasy drama, it has been criticized for a sequence in which Ranbir Kapoor is shown entering the temple without his shoes. However, in a statement, filmmaker Ayan Mukerji corrected the situation, saying that the footage in issue is of him visiting a Durga Pandal rather than the temple grounds.

Scenes from the Brahmastra the scene in question shows Ranbir Kapoor approaching the idol while wearing his shoes. Readers are likely aware that in Indian tradition, footwear is usually removed while entering a temple, since it represents the courtesy, we practice when entering someone’s home. A Durga Pandal, on the other hand, is not the same as a temple. “As the creator of this film (and a devotee), I wanted to sincerely confront what transpired here,” filmmaker Ayan Mukerji said in a statement. Ranbir does not enter a temple in our film, but rather a Durga Puja Pandal. For the past 75 years, my family has hosted a similar Durga Puja celebration. One that I’ve been a part of since I was a youngster. We only take off our shoes on the stage where the Goddess appears, not while entering the Pandal, in my experience.”

“It is personally vital for me to reach out to anyone who may have been unhappy by this picture,” Ayan continued, “because above all, Brahmastra is developed as a cinematic experience that pays respect to, and embraces Indian culture, customs, and history.” That is why I produced this film, and it is critical to me that this sensation reaches every Indian who watches Brahmastra.”

Brahmastra is the first instalment of an Indian mythical fantasy trilogy, and it stars Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in the key roles. Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, and Mouni Roy play significant parts in the film. The picture, which is produced by Karan Johar and distributed by Dharma Productions, will be released on September 11th.
