This movie came in the year 1994, and was a controversial movie at the time of its release. The relationship between Leon and Mathilda is complicated. She wants to follow his footsteps and tries to learn the intricacies of being an assassin. She tries to seduce him.
Leon doesn’t really show an interest in her but his heart warms up to life. Her family life was terrible, she witnessed her family’s murder and Leon is the only person who has shown her some compassion and care. At the age of 12, you don’t really know what love is! Everything is infatuation and you are drawn to men.
Leon can’t read, loves milk, is not very worldly wise. Jean Reno has played his part really well. He’s a ‘cleaner’, yet he won’t stoop to the level of touching a 12-year old.
Helmed by Luc Besson, the movie is shot in New York. With a rating of 8.5/10 on IMBD and a great cast, this one is worth your time.
