Dogs consistently prove their status as humans’ closest companions with their kind actions, reminding us repeatedly. Amidst a potentially chaotic world, returning to our furry companions remains a wonderful and uplifting experience, acting as our ultimate emotional healers. These adorable four-legged friends truly embody the term ‘paw-adorable.’ For International Dog Day, actors talk about their dogs and share interesting stories about how they named their pets. These include Geetanjali Mishra (Rajesh from Happu Ki Ultan Paltan), Aayudh Bhanushali (Krishna from Doosri Maa), and Vidisha Srivastava (Anita Bhabi from Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai). Geetanjali Mishra, Rajesh in Happu Ki Ultan Paltan, shares, “I love dogs so much that I often prefer them over people, to be honest. I think dogs make better companions than humans. Whenever I go to a friend’s house, and they have a dog, I spend more time with the dog than my friend. They sometimes complain about it (laughs). I also adopted a Labrador. Because of my busy work schedule, I arranged for him to stay with my friend so he could have constant attention. When we first met, he barked a lot, and his barking sounded like ‘Bum Bum,’ so I named him Bum Bum. As a follower of Lord Shiva, calling him reminds me of my favourite god. His presence easily makes me feel better and brings positivity into my life. On this International Dog Day, I strongly suggest that everyone consider getting a dog and see how they can bring positivity and excitement into another person’s life.”

Aayudh Bhanushali, aka Krishna from Doosri Maa, shares, “I am a big dog lover in my family, but my busy work schedule keeps me from having a dog since being apart from them for months makes me sad. While shooting for my show “Doosri Maa” at ZEE Studios Jaipur a few months back, I met a wonderful black Labrador. One day, he approached me and started playing around my leg. I instantly connected with him and asked his owner if I could care for him for a while. He agreed because he saw how much I cared. I named him Chota Bullet because he was small, super cute, and fast. When I called, “Chota Bullet, come here,” he would run to me, sometimes stumbling adorably due to his tiny legs. During my breaks, we played with a ball and raced around. I often took him to parks and gardens. It was hard to say goodbye when he left, but we connected through video calls. I believe animals show pure, selfless love and deserve the best the world can give them.” Vidisha Srivastava, aka Anita Bhabi from Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hai, shares, “You don’t choose a dog; a dog chooses you. That’s exactly what happened when I walked into my sister’s place three years ago, and the rest is a heartwarming story. A white mixed-breed dog approached me and gently nudged his nose against my neck as soon as I entered. I immediately fell in love with him. Because of his white fur, captivating eyes, and playful personality, we immediately named him Foxy. He looks like a White Fox and has a strong sense of smell. Whenever we make something, he enjoys, he puts on a little act, behaving like a clever fox until we share a bite with him. Since Foxy became a part of my life, he’s been my ultimate stress reliever, closest companion, and a shining source of hope that brightens each day. He brings happiness and unwavering affection into my life. Most importantly, he’s shown me how to love more each day. Dogs make us better humans. Happy International Dog Day to all the fellow dog lovers out there!”
