Based on Keigo Higashino’s ‘The Devotion of Suspect X’, this movie is gripping. Sometimes all you have to do is exist, in-order to be someone’s savior, the movie is a tale of unrequited love, where a man would go to any extent to protect his loved ones.
Directed by Sujoy Ghosh, the film centers around a single mother who lives with her 13-year old daughter. In the serene land of Kalimpong, her world goes topsy-turvy when her estranged husband comes back. In an attempt to protect herself and Tara, she lands up killing him and her world is in a chaos. A match teacher, her neighbor steps in to assist. I must add, he has had a secret crush on Kareena for a long-long time!
All seems well until, Vijay Varma, a smart cop comes snooping around and investigating the murder. It transpires that Karan and the Maths teacher were classmates. Both are witty and the batter between the men is intriguing.
Kareena looks good in the movie, her no make-up look is all fine but when she sings in the karaoke bar, Kareena’s old self is back! Jaideep Ahlawat has played the extremely complexed, demanding character brilliantly and Vijay Varma, the handsome cop, looks dashing.
Its not one of the best thrillers I have seen yet the movie keeps your interest alive. Streaming on Netflix, enjoy it!
