A proud moment for India indeed. Among 265 films, three films, 12th Fail, Country of Blind and 2018, are contending for the Oscar nominations.
In the same league are some movies such as ‘Barbie’, ‘Oppenheimer’ and ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’. Hina Khan reacted to this exciting news and said, “To be featured as the same list as ‘Oppenheimer’ and ‘Barbie’ is a huge achievement for our film, ‘Country of Blind.’ This is a moment of pride for the entire team of ‘Country of Blind.’”
The movie, Country of Blind, is the story of a mountaineer who falls off 1000 feet from a cliff and winds up in a valley that is inhabited only by the blind people.
Vikrant Massey’s 12th Fail, is a superb film that deserves to be appreciated, about how a student who gets inspired by a police officer, decides not to cheat and despite of all the difficulties that come his way, he pursues his studies and wins. A fantastic watch!
There is a buzz that SRK’S Dunki, might also get a nod for the Oscars. 2018, is a 2023 Indian Malayalam language survival drama film based on the severe 2018 Kerela floods that devastated Kerela.
