Top Indian Basketballers from across India will be seen in action at the 8th edition of North East 3×3 Basketball Challenge to be held on 1st and 2nd March 2024 in Shillong.
In the women’s category players like Raspreet Sidhu who is currently ranked Indian no 1 in 3×3 basketball will team up with Rashi Khotani, Ishika Choudhary and Garima Gosain and represent Shillong Labet. This team had represented India at the Red Bull 3×3 2023 and recently at Manila Hustle 3×3 2024 and were runners up at the 3×3 Senior Nationals. Labet Court Kings ranked 9th in 3×3 Senior Nationals for Meghalaya India Ranking on FIBA 3×3 will be represented by Carolyne Kharpuri who is ranked 5th, Iairy Susana who is ranked 9th and Ucilia Pyngrope who is ranked 10th in India for 3×3 basketball. Siphu Nihang will be represented by Jain University girls who recently won gold at the Khelo India University Games Ashtalakshmi.
In the men’s category, *Diphu Nihang team is represented by Sumanth Sathya Narayan who played in INBL 3×3 championships and represented Bengaluru INBL at Fiba Challenger at Hongcheon(South Korea). He is ranked no 2 in India in 3×3 category.
Talking about the same Mr. Andrew Suting of Touchline Basketball said, “This year’s tournament is going to be big and we are happy to see so many top players from India participating in the tournament. This will help in getting large crowd and we will make sure the tournament is very successful.”
Iairy Susana who is ranked 9th in 3×3 basketball and who will be representing Labet Court Kings said, “I am excited for the NE 3×3 and looking forward to completing against the best in the country and I look forward to learning from them as well.”
This year’s event promises to be bigger and better than ever before, with an exciting total prize pool of Rupees 1,00,000 for both the Men’s and Women’s Categories. Organized by Touchline Basketball, in collaboration with the Meghalaya AIDS Control Society, the sporting event is recognised by BFI and endorsed by FIBA3X3 the world body of 3×3 Basketball and the Meghalaya Basketball Association.
