It’s a wonderful news for the entire cast and crew of ‘All we imagine as light’, which has won the Grand Prix at the 77th Cannes Film Festival. The film got an eight-minute standing ovation following its debut, which is among the longest of this edition at the film festival.
Payal Kapadia, is really happy at accomplishing this feat. In an interview, she said, “India is a country that makes a lot of good films. Not just Bollywood but every state has its industry and there are absolutely brilliant filmmakers. I hope that after this we won’t have to wait another 30 years. I’m excited and really, we’re just happy that our film got selected. We didn’t expect it and its an honour because there are so many filmmakers in the section that I really admire.”
The film casts Kani Kusruti, Divya Prabha, Chhaya Kadam and Hridhu Haroon. The movie is an Indo-French production that portrays the life of a nurse, who gets an unexpected gift from her estranged husband. In between, her young friend and roommate, is on a look out for a quiet spot with her lover. The two women decide to go on a road trip to a beach town, and pursue their dreams. Let life flow.
The entire team was all smiles at the red carpet and viewers are calling the film, ‘gorgeous and absorbing.’
