Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut’s much anticipated film ‘Thalaivi’ has been postponed for further release due to spike in novel corona virus cases. The film was scheduled to hit the screens this month, however, on Friday the makers of film announced that the release of the film has been delayed till the further notice. The filmmakers stated that the covid-19 cases are rising sharply, keeping in view the safety of people, the film will get released later.
Kangana, lead starrer of the film took to twitter to share the news. She shared a letter mentioning the same news that can be read as, “Dear Audience, We are extremely grateful for the tremendous response and unconditional love you have shown for ‘Thalaivi’ trailer. As a team, we have sacrificed a lot in making this film and thank every member of the cast and crew who supported us in this challenging but remarkable journey. Since the film has been made in multiple languages, we would like to release it in all languages on the same day.”
Later in the note, it was mentioned, due to precautionary measures the release of the film is postponed, “ But with the alarming rise in COVID-19 cases, subsequent precautions and lockdowns, even though our film is ready for release on 23rd April, we want to extent and the support towards the government rules and regulations and have decided to postpone release of Thalaivi. Though we are deferring the release date, we are confident that we will receive as much love from you all then as well. Stay safe and looking forward to everyone’s support.”

Thalaivi is a biopic based on the life of former chief minister of Tamil Nadu J. Jayalaithaa. The film is directed by A.L. Vijay and produced by Vishnu Vardhan Induri, Shailesh R Singh and Brinda Prasad.
