Meanwhile, locals in K Gangavaram have urged the police and religious organizations not to make a big deal out of it because gatherings of all faiths have been held at the hall for quite some time.
On social media, a hoax post claiming that a few individuals organised a Christian prayer service in Ramalayam at K Gangavaram village has gone viral. Sunil Deodhar, the BJP’s national secretary, and Somu Veerraju, the party’s state president, both attacked Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and asked that those who held the prayer gathering be arrested. On his Twitter account, Veerraju posted the remark.
Pamarru SI K Chiranjeevi and his crew arrived at the temple on the orders of SP M Ravindranath Babu and inquired about the situation. The message was bogus, and no such prayer meeting was organised, according to the authorities.
Kada Mangayamma, who lives near Ramalayam, has been holding Christian prayer sessions in a hall in front of the temple, according to the SP. She hosted a prayer gathering at the hall on March 30. Srinivas, her son from Kakinada, had a fight with her, accusing her of wasting a lot of money on prayer sessions. She contacted Pamarru police, who took care of the situation.
Srinivas’ cousin Kada Venkata Ramana, who lives in the same village as Srinivas, wrote a message questioning, “Why are they organising a Christian prayer in Ramalayam?” The message was forwarded several times and went popular on social media.
