Karan Johar has a new web series in the pipeline made by Dharma Productions titled ‘Showtime.’ Starring Naseeruddin Shah, Emraan Hashmi, Mouni Roy, Shriya Saran, Vijay Raaz and others in the world of showbiz.
The teaser has the ‘Badshah of Bollywood’, played by Emraan Hashmi saying, “nepotism ke mukhaute ke peeche aakhir mein har outsider insider banna chahta hai (at the end, every outsider wants to become an insider behind the garb of nepotism).” Naeeruddin Shah, the brain behind it all says, “cinema dhandha nahi dharam hai sadda (cinema is not my business but my religion).”
The show depicts the good and bad of the Bollywood business. This is an in-depth account of the Bollywood lives. Karan Johar states, “Showtime is a series that is very close to my heart, it gives a closer look into the power struggles of showbiz. The show will ensure that battle lines are drawn and crossed and keeps the camera rolling with audiences clapping.”
It will be released on Disney + Hotstar next year. Karan Johar has often had to bear the brunt of the nepotism debate and aren’t we all excited to see what his show holds for us and dive deep into the lives of Bollywood behind the scenes.
