BTS is the biggest K-pop band of all time. They have gained a lot of recognition for their supreme talent and abilities. In recent times, reports flew about and informed people that BTS have shifted their music record company.

If reports are to be believed, BTS is no more covered by Sony Music but by Universal Music Group.

BTS have exited their partnership with Sony Music’s Columbia Records to sign with Universal Music Group (UMG), according to a report from Billboard and confirmed by Variety. BTS’s new licensing deal is with UMG’s Geffen division, with INgrooves handling distribution. This is great news because Universal Music Group is the world’s largest Music Company.

It isn’t a surprise to some fans because a few months ago, HYBE announced a partnership with UMG, the world’s largest music company and the aim of the collaboration was to “increase opportunities for artists through innovation and technology, whilst expanding the global reach of K-Pop music and culture around the world.” One thing that this partnership ensured was that UMG artists were added to the platform called Weverse. Teams from HYBE, UMG, and Geffen Records will also work closely with a new label based in Los Angeles. Not only that, HYBE’s Bang Si Hyuk and Scooter Braun, whose Ithaca Holdings was acquired by HYBE earlier this year, are reportedly close with UMG CEO Lucian Grange. According to various reports, BTS and Columbia CEO Ron Perry were having some issues working together.

Other artists under UMG include SEVENTEEN, Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, and Rihanna.
