The trailer for Akshay Kumar’s forthcoming Holi release, Bachchhan Paandey, has been out. The actor reprises his role as a nasty mobster with a stone stare in a never-before-seen incarnation of a colourful persona.
The video opens with an introduction to Kriti Sanon’s character Myra Devekar, who wants to produce a film about a criminal named Bachchhan Paandey and encourages her buddy Vishu, played by Arshad Warsi, to join her on her goal. Bachchhan Paandey is portrayed as a ruthless mobster who is constantly on the loose. Though the teaser teases a storyline twist, he is claimed to have slain his own lover Sophie (Jacqueline Fernandez).
“Sophie ka sapna hai wonderful love tale,” Jacqueline posted her first glimpse from the film hours before the trailer was released. Uski har wish puri kya #BachchhanPaandey kar payega? (Sophie fantasises about a fantastical love storey.) Will Bachchhan Paandey be able to grant all of her desires)?
Akshay had revealed the spelling change in the film’s title earlier this week by tweeting a new poster of himself playing a mobster with a stone eye. “This is a character with more hues than a paint store!” He said, “#BachchhanPaandey aapko daraane, hasaane, rulaane sab ke liye ready hai.”
“I am extremely happy because it has everything in it,” Kriti Sanon told Bollywood Hungama in an interview, describing Bachchhan Paandey as a full package. There’s humour, action, and a lot of fascinating drama going on here. It’s a whole package, in my opinion.”
Bachchhan Paandey is a remake of the 2014 Tamil film Jigarthanda, written by Nischay Kuttanda and directed by Farhad Samji. Bachchhan Paandey, directed by Sajid Nadiadwala, will be released in theatres on March 18.
