A handful of vetivers or khus roots is all you need. In a comprehensive video on Instagram, Ayurvedic practitioner Dr. Rekha Radhamony discussed the various advantages of vetiver.

“These roots are highly cooling, as well as fragrant,” Dr Radhamony said in the video. Apart from being cooling, Dr Radhamony claims that it aids digestion and decreases heat, thirst, and a burning feeling. It also works as a blood purifier, treats skin conditions, and aids with urine retention.

What is the best way to get water?

Boil one litre of water with khus roots. It should be consumed throughout the day.

It also keeps your odor-free, which is very important in the summer heat.

“Vetiver roots are known as ‘dourgandhyahara,’ which means they aid to eliminate foul odours. So, if you have body odour from excessive sweating during the summer, boil some water with khus roots and add it to the bath water,” she continued.
