Janhvi Kapoor and Varun Dhawan starrer Bawaal is out now with a bang. Director Nitesh Tiwari, of the Dangal fame, tries his hand at a love story in the sad, hard wartimes.
About the teaser, Janhvi wrote, “Love never comes easy, get ready for some Bawaal!” The lines heard in the teaser are, “Maine apne rishte ko samajhne mein itna waqt lagadia, jab samjha to khone ka waqt aa chuka tha.” The two look totally in love, a story of a small-town man falling in love with the most beautiful girl in town.
However, the last shot of the teaser, which depicts Varun calling out for Janhvi while gasping for breath, in what appears to be a gas chamber, has viewers wondering if this is the Holocaust depicted.
Producer Sajid Nadiadwala said, “I am so proud of Bawaal, a film I believe will forever be one of my most special and memorable projects. From the beginning we believed Bawaal will be truly appreciated and thoroughly enjoyed by audiences all over the world, and partnering with Prime Video, enables us to reach evert corner, through a global streaming premiere. Working with a visionary like Nitesh, and talented actors like Varun and Janhvi, makes the job of a producer much easier, as we have managed to supersede our own ambitions for the film. Come July 21, the audience will witness a love story that will be remembered for ages.”
The movie has opted for a direct OTT release and ditched the theatrical route.
