Several popular movies made in the last few years are copies of Southern films, such as Vikram Vedha, Selfiee, Bholaa, Shehzada and many more. And I have news for you! The trend is changing- Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is set to be remade down South.
Going by the buzz, several producers tried to acquire the rights of the said movie but Gnanavel Raja succeeded and the movie will be made in Tamil. He quotes, “Yes, I have purchased the Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 south remake rights. I believe it’s a nice story to be told here with a different spin. I am currently in the process of finalizing the cast and crew. I haven’t zeroed in on anyone yet.”
Bhool Bhulaiyaa is the story of a boy and a girl who meet in the hills, reach an abandoned mansion and come across a dreaded spirt that has been trapped for 18 years. The movie was a huge box-office hit and made approx. Rs 185.92 crores.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 1 was the Hindi remake of the 1993 Malayalam film, ‘Manichitrathazhu’, but the sequel is an original Hindi story.
