Netflix Korea just announced the start of production on a new K-drama titled “Black Knight.” The starring roles for the new original series have already been announced for Kim Woo Bin, E Som, and Kang You-Seok.

What more did we learn about “Black Knight”?

It is set in the year 2071 and takes place in a filthy environment. Only one percent of mankind has survived earlier disasters, and everyone on the earth relies on respirators to breathe. In this series, we’ll also encounter an abandoned version of the Korean Peninsula.

In the midst of this mayhem, “Black Knight” is scheduled to chronicle the narrative of a figure known only as “5-8” and Sawol, a refugee who aspires to be like him, a famed delivery driver with a unique set of combat skills. They operate as delivery drivers and are portrayed as a special group responsible for the human race’s survival in the novel. The title previously received the E-IP Award for best webtoon at the Asian Film Market. As a result, the story is one to keep an eye on.

“5-8” is played by Kim Woo-Bin. In his performances in “Master, Uncontrollably Fond, and Inheritors,” he enthralled audiences in South Korea and around the world.

Sawol is played by Kang You-Seok. We’ve seen his incredible work in “Start-Up,” “Once Again,” and “Light on Me,” and we’re expecting much more in this next film.

In the series, E Som plays Seolah, a military officer with the Defense Intelligence Command who saves Sawol. She has starred in films such as “Taxi Driver,” “Samjin Company English Class,” “Inseparable Bros,” and “Microhabitat,” among others.

After the 2016 smash success “Master,” Woo Bin reunites with director Choi Ui-Seok. Director Choi will also be in charge of directing the formidable team’s chemistry in order to represent such distinct personalities.

Is “Black Knight’s” world a premonition of the planet’s genuine future following the coronavirus pandemic? Time will tell if this is true. Netflix has yet to announce a release date for this series as of this writing. We do know that “Black Knight” will be exclusively available on Netflix in the near future.
