BLACKPINK has opened up and come ahead to talk about the drastic climate change that is affecting us all. On October 24, they released a video that caught everyone’s eyes. Jennie was the first one to speak as she talked about how the youth is connected today and is facing one common enemy– climate change.
She said, “Hi, this is BLACKPINK, and we want to share an important message with you all. We are the first generation to have grown up in the digital age, and that makes us unique. Since we have grown up connected to each other through technology, we have a lot in common regardless of where we live on earth. Today, we have connected once again as we’re facing a common problem associated with the times that we live in.”
Jisoo was the next one to speak up. She talked about the environmental crisis that is unfolding in front of our eyes but isn’t seen by all. “We are growing up on a planet that, every day since we were born, has gotten sicker and sicker. And since our generation is also the best connected, and because we will be around to see how this story unfolds, we have to be more aware of this environmental crisis,” She said.
After the two had spoken up, the girls took turns… talking about the things that made them aware of this environmental crisis. Rose spoke up, “I realized the seriousness of this problem after noticing the amount of waste the earth is collecting each year.”
Lisa then added that she realised how bad it truly is after she noticed that the air pollution was rising. “This problem has never been more important to me since realizing how harmful air pollution has become, “ said Lisa.
