Actor Sonu Sood urges government to lower down Covid-19 vaccine eligibility age to 25 years

Bollywood actor and philanthropist Sonu Sood has now spoken about the age relaxation for the Covid-19 vaccination as the entire country is witnessing the surge in the cases. The actor urges the Ministry of Health to allow people who are 25 years of age and above to get vaccinated.  

The actor took to twitter on Thursday and wrote, “I urge @MoHFW_INDIA to consider 25 years and above getting vaccinated too. With the number of cases rising and even kids getting infected in large numbers with virus it’s high time we announce the vaccination for 25 years and above. Max numbers of cases I come across are youngsters.”

Earlier, on April 7, on the occasion of World Health Day, the actor took the first jab of Covid-19 vaccine  and started his initiative, ‘Sanjeevani- A shot of life’ to create awareness and encourage people to get vaccinated against novel corona virus.

Sonu Sood shared his picture of taking the vaccine and tweeted on Wednesday afternoon, “Got my vaccine today and now it is time to get the whole of my country vaccinated. Started the biggest vaccination drive “Sanjeevani” which will bring awareness and get our people vaccinated. @IllajIndia @Network18Group @SoodFoundation”

As of now, people above the age of 45 years are eligible to receive the Covid-19 vaccine. In many parts of the country night curfew has been imposed by the state government for controlling the rise in number.  Maharashtra state is under partial lockdown and also under weekend lockdown and night curfew is being imposed earlier this week. As of now, the restrictions will remain till April 30.
