Actors in Bollywood’s Ram Leela performances have been banned by the Ayodhya seers’ organization

Bollywood actors, according to the seers, drink wine, eat meat, and engage in immoral acts, which prevents them from portraying the virtuous characters of the Ramayana, they said. Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, was asked by the seers of Ayodhya on Tuesday to immediately ban performances of Ram Leela by Bollywood actors in the state next month.

About 100 Ayodhya saints gathered at Bada Bhakt Maal, a shrine and center for Hindu religious studies in Ayodhya, to make the request.

Mahant Dharam Das, a priest at the Hanumangarhi temple in Ayodhya, said there is a particular tradition of Ram Leela in Ayodhya, when individuals perform as Lord Rama, Sita, and other characters.

A Bollywood star who doesn’t observe religious observance cannot be a source of blessing, he added. When it comes to Ram Leela, head priest Awadhesh Das Shastri remarked, “We cannot accept unethical performances.

Bhagyashree will play Sita in Ram Leela, a multi-starrer starring a number of Bollywood stars. Avatar Gill, Bindu Dara Singh and Shakti Kapoor are among the other actors who will take part.
