Veteran actor Anupam Kher took to Twitter to wish actor Naseeruddin Shah good health as he undergoes treatment for pneumonia at Hinduja hospital in Kahr, Mumbai.
Interestingly, the good wishes came after a year Anupam was called ‘a clown’ by Naseeruddin Shah, which resulted in bitter public controversy.
Anupam Kher took to Twitter to pen a note for him. He wrote in Hindi, “Janaab Naseeruddin Shah Sahab!! Kambakht pneumonia importance chah raha hai. Isliye 1-2 dino ke liye aapke sath ho liya hai. Jaldi jhatak de isse aur theek ho jaiye. Bade dino se aapke sath kaam karne ki talab hai. khyal rakhiye apna. Aapki achchi sehat ke liye prarthana aur dua. (Sir Naseeruddin Shah sahib!! Pneumonia is seeking importance so it has decided to stick with you for a couple of days. Give it a quick shake-off and get well!! Looking forward to working with you for a long time. Take care of yourself! Prayers for your good health).”
Anupam Kher VS Naseeruddin Shah Controversy
In an interview last year, Naseeruddin Shah had called Anupam Kher a clown for his pro-government stance on social media. Naseeruddin had told a leading daily, “Someone like Anupam Kher has been very vocal. I don’t think he needs to be taken seriously. He’s a clown. Any number of his contemporaries from NSD and FTII can attest to his sycophantic nature. It’s in his blood, he can’t help it.”
Anupam was agitated with such words from Naseeruddin. After this, Kher took to social media and uploaded a long video in reply to Naseeruddin’s comments.
In the video, he had said, “Despite achieving so much success, you have spent your entire life in frustration. If you can criticize Dilip Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan, Rajesh Khanna, Shah Rukh Khan, and Virat Kohli, then I am sure I am in great company.”
In his interview, Naseeruddin had talked about many Bollywood stars keeping mum over the protests against the CAA. The senior actor lauded Deepika for taking a step like this being at the top stage of her career as she showed solidarity at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).
Meanwhile, Naseeruddin Shah’s condition is stable. As per the reports, the actor was hospitalized after a patch was found in his lungs.
