Akshay Kumar and Rohit Shetty have made their fans wait long for their upcoming movie, Sooryavanshi. The film, which was expected to release in 2020, could not release on the silver screen ever since the theatres got shut down due to the novel coronavirus spread. While a lot has been discussed and debated about its possible date for its release, the makers still don’t seem to have any release date for the film yet. In his latest interview with a daily, Akshay once again talked about the release date of Sooryavanshi. The action film also stars Katrina Kaif in the lead role.
Speaking to an e-portal, Akshay Kumar said that only God and, Rohit Shetty, know about the film’s release date. He said, “Sooryavansi ke baare me sirf do hi insaan jaante hai – ek Bhagwan aur dusra Rohit Shetty (laughs), (Only two people are aware of Sooryavanshi’s release date — God and Rohit Shetty)”. He then added that the film is going to stay relevant and fresh, whenever it releases.
The actor was quoted saying, “I never believe content will become old or something like that where my film is concerned. We had a promo out. There have been films that were shot and ready for three years and are all waiting.”
Akshay Kumar is currently busy promoting his film upcoming, Bell Bottom with Lara Dutta, Vaani Kapoor, and Huma Qureshi. The film is scheduled to release in theatres on August 19, as the first film after the pandemic.
