Aparshakti Khurana and his wife Aakriti Ahuja became proud parents to a baby girl Arzoie A. Khurana on Friday (Aug 27). The actor took to social media to share the happy news with the world. While he is enjoying the new phase of his life, Aparshakti opened up about embracing fatherhood, and the feeling when he held his newborn born in his arms for the first time and more. The Stree actor also spoke about what advice his brother and actor Ayushmann Khurrana and his wife Tahira Kashyap gave him.
While speaking with a leading daily, Aparshakti said, “Growing your family with the love of your life is a great feeling. We were a little stressed about the baby’s birth, but by God’s grace, it went smoothly. I can’t thank God enough for being so kind to us. We feel truly blessed.”
Talking about the moment when he held his newborn in his hands for the first time, the actor said he just can’t put the feeling in words. He added, “We spent the entire second lockdown in anticipation of the baby’s arrival, and there I was, finally holding her in my arms. To see that this little baby is half me and half the person I love is so heart-warming.”
Aparshakti also revealed that initially when he would get nervous about embracing parenthood, he would take inspiration from his brother Ayushmann.
Adding to it, he mentioned, “Ayush bhaiyya is a great father, and I have definitely been inspired by him. The one thing that I have learned from him is to give your children the freedom to be themselves. We have also been taking tips from Ayush bhaiyya and his wife, Tahira. One piece of advice that we really liked was to get as much sleep as you can before the baby comes because once that happens, you lose out on it (laughs).”
Aparshakti also opened up about how he and Aakriti came on the name Arzoie for their daughter. “We thought of over 100 names before shortlisting this. We also fondly address her by her nicknames — Zoiee and ZuZu,” he concluded.
