Untimely death of Gujarati and Hindi film actor-writer-director Amit Mistry has left his colleagues and the entertainment industry shocked. The 47 year old actor passed away today morning (April 23) due to cardiac arrest at his home in Mumbai. He was a well known name in the Gujarati film Industry and in television industry.
The entertainment industry is mourning his untimely death and offered their condolences to the actor on social media.
Filmmaker Ritesh Sidhwani tweeted, “The news of Amit Mistry’s demise is shocking! It’s terribly sad for such a fine person and an amazing actor to leave us so soon. May he rest in peace.”
Actress Genelia D’Souza who worked with Amit Mistry on a project, took to twitter to pay condolences and wrote, “Shocked to hear about #AmitMistry.. Remember shooting together and you were absolutely lovely to interact with.. Rest in peace dear Amit.”
Tisca Chopra also expressed her grief and tweeted, “Shit. Such a lovely guy, totally chill.. deepest condolences to the family.. RIP #AmitMistry.”
Actress Jacqueline Fernandez also mourned the death of the actor on social media. She took to Instagram stories and shared a picture with Amit and wrote, “Rest in Peace @actoramitmistry.”
Actor Rajesh Tailang, who played the character of Amit’s elder brother in web series Bandish Bandits shared a still from the web show and expressed his grief. He wrote a message in Hindi that he cannot believe that a cheerful person like Amit has gone forever. He further added, that wherever you are, keep spreading happiness .
“This is devastating.. So young.. so spirited.. so loving.. so chilled out.. can’t forget his fabulous performance in Markarand Deshpande’s Ek Kadam Aage and recent Bandish Bandits.. what an actor..too soon Amit (dropped broken heart emoji) too soon! #RIP #AmitMistry”, tweeted Sonali Kulkarni.
Kulraj Randhawa tweeted, “Saddened to hear the demise of #AmitMistry, fondly remembered as ‘Binda’ in Yamla Pagla Deewana, due to cardiac arrest. Fantastic co-actor and human being. Condolences to his family. May his soul rest in peace.”
The actor is known for his work in films like Kya Kehna, Ek Chalis Ki Last Local, 99, Shor In The City, Yamla Pagla Deewana, A Gentleman. He also appeared in Television shows like Tenali Rama, Madam Sir, Saat Phero Ki Hera Pheri, Woh, Yeh Duniya Hai Rangeen, Subh Mangal Savadhan and many more.
The actor also worked as a dialogue writer for the film ‘What’s Your Raashee?’in 2009 and also directed a film ‘Two Cubes Pls’ in 2013. He was also seen in a web series Bandish Bandits as Devendra Rathod which got streamed on Amazon Prime last year.
