Actor Sahil Vaid has said that he shouldn’t have done Shershaah because he wasn’t convinced about the role he had been offered. He also said that he did the film as a gesture of gratitude to Dharma Productions.

Actor Sahil Vaid, who appears as Vikram Batra’s ally Sunny within the recently-released film Shershaah, has said that he did the film reluctantly, and is disappointed that ‘people aren’t even talking about’ his add the film.

In an interview, Sahil Vaid thanked Dharma Productions for hiring him in films like Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya and Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya, and said that he would’ve preferred to play a soldier in Shershaah, supported the lifetime of Kargil War hero Captain Vikram Batra.

He told Zoom, “I quite found out that this is often quite a really small role and didn’t actually need to try to to this role. I visited the director and told him to offer me a uniformed role. i actually would like to play a soldier, nobody has seen me in such roles and that i actually need to try to to those battle scenes, but the director was convinced i used to be best suited to play Sunny. I owe Dharma tons . They gave me Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania also as Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya and this was during how of me saying many thanks .”

He said that though the film has been released, the supporting cast isn’t being appreciated for his or her work. He continued, “Shershaah has released and reviews are pouring in. People are talking about the movie, but nobody is talking about these remarkable actors who have actually lent support for this film. There are some really amazing actors who have worked during this movie, forgot their egos, and gone for smaller roles… agreed to undertake to to bit parts because they wanted to pay tribute to the late Captain Vikram Batra. that’s why I did this movie also and now i’m realising I shouldn’t have done this movie, people aren’t even talking about what I even have wiped out the film.”
