Singer Bappi Lahiri tests positive for COVID-19, admitted at Breach Candy Hospital

A lot of celebrities in the last few weeks have contracted the virus and recently veteran singer Bappi Lahiri has been tested positive to COVID-19. The singer has been admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai.

The singer’s family has requested everyone to get themselves tested, who came in contact with him as a safety measure. 

“Bappi Dada has tested positive for Covid-19 and is under experts supervision at Breach Candy Hospital and his family has requested everyone to get themselves tested, who came in contact with him. He always seeks blessings and wishes from fans and friends and on behalf of Bappi Da, we are passing his message to all his well-wishers and supporters to stay healthy and blessed.” said Bappi’s spokesperson in an official statement.

Also, his daughter Rema Lahiri Bansal issued an official statement stating, “Bappi Da has mild symptoms of novel corona virus, but has been admitted due to his age factor. Dr Udwadia at Breach Candy Hospital is taking care of him. Thank you for keeping him your prayers.” 

Bappi Da recently shared a video on his Instagram handle where he showing that he has pre-registered for the COVID-19 vaccine and can be heard saying, “Maine register Kiya, Aapne register Kar diya?” The veteran singer wrote along the post, “I have pre-registered for my #COVID19Vaccine- what are you waiting for!”

The singer further mentioned in the post,“As soon as I found out that us over 60’s and those aged between 45-59 with a specified co-morbidity are now able to get our jab booked in, I felt a sense of relief that the end to this pandemic is in sight. It was quick and simple to register at Cowin.gov.in (Link in bio) and urge all of my friends in this age bracket to do the same!”

Adding further he wrote, “Please pre-register in advance as this is much more efficient than walk-ins, which should be after 3pm. Just take your Aadhar card, voter or any government ID which has your photo, gender and date of birth. Join me and millions of other over 60’s in pre-registering for your vaccine today, to protect yourself, your family and India. #Unite2FightCorona #LargestVaccineDrive #VaccineVarta #CoWin.”
