The sports drama movie Toofaan is all set to release on July 16 on Amazon Prime Video. In lieu of this, actor Farhan Akhtar, who will be seen essaying the role of a boxer in the film, shared a new poster of the film today. The new poster also features a female lead, Mrunal Thakur. Sharing the poster, the actor also revealed that the trailer of the film will release on June 30.
In the new poster, Farhan Akhtar can be seen in an intense look boxing pose with blood dripping off his face. On the other hand, Mrunal gives a soft touch as she holds Farhan lovingly. Sharing it, the actor wrote, “Life can’t break you when love holds you together. Trailer out on 30th June. #ToofaanOnPrime.”
Earlier, Farhan shared a teaser of Toofan on Twitter and called it ‘a labor of love.’ Sharing the film teaser on Twitter, the actor wrote, “It fills me with immense joy to give you the first glimpse of a film into which we poured all our love, passion, exuberance, madness even. It truly is a labor of love and today I am so excited to share it with you. Here’s presenting the #ToofaanTeaser.”
Toofaan is an inspirational sports drama, which was slated to release in theatres on September 18, 2020, but got delayed due to the novel coronavirus pandemic and now is set to stream on Amazon Prime Videos.
Farhan Akhtar announced the release date of the film on social media. Sharing a poster of the film, he wrote, “With humility, love and in dedication to the fighting spirit of the beautiful people of our nation, our film ‘Toofaan’ will be releasing on July 16th. #ToofaanOnPrime.”
The film also features Paresh Rawal, Vijay Raaz, Supriya Pathak Kapur, and Hussain Dalal in prominent roles.
The film is bankrolled by Excel Entertainment in association with ROMP Pictures. Helmed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. Toofaan marks the second collaboration of Farhan and Omprakash Mehra. The two have earlier worked together in Bhaag Milkha Bhaag which was released in 2013.
