Vidya Balan has started shooting for her forthcoming film Jalsa. The Sherni actress took to social media and informed the same. The film will also feature Shefali Shah in a lead role. The film will be helmed by Suresh Triveni, who earlier directed Vidhya’s Tumhari Sulu. It is slated to release in 2022.
Vidya Balan who was recently seen in Amazon Prime Video’s Sherni has started filming for her upcoming film titled, Jalsa. The film went on the floor on Thursday, August 12. Revealing the same on Twitter, she wrote, “Beyond excited to reunite with #SureshTriveni and to team-up with the brilliant @ShefaliShah_ to create something special! 2022 mein #Jalsa hoga! #JalsaBegins Filming.”
Talking about Jalsa and her reunion with Suresh Triveni, Vidya said, “I’m very excited to collaborate again with Suresh. Tumhari Sulu was a one-of-a-kind, fun experience and I look forward to us creating something special with Jalsa. Jalsa is an edgy but human story and I can’t wait to firstly start work on it and then share it with the world. I’m also delighted to reunite with Abundantia Entertainment and T-series on the back of Sherni and look forward to working with Shefali who I have admired for a long as also the rest of the amazing cast and awesome crew”.
Shefali Shah also took to Twitter to share the announcement teaser of the film and wrote, “Elated to announce my new film #Jalsa with the inimitable #SureshTriveni and the one and only @vidya_balan #JalsaBegins Filming.”
About Jalsa
Apart from Vidya Balan and Shefali Shah, the film also stars Iqbal Khan, Rohini Hattangadi, Gurpal Singh, Vidhatri Bandi, and Surya Kasibhatla. On the other hand, Manav Kaul will have a special appearance. Jalsa will be directed and co-written by Suresh Triveni along with Prajwal Chandrashekar.
