In a tete-a tete, Boney Kapoor revealed his past and opened up about the financial hardships he had to face in his early life. His father, Surinder Kapoor lost his job as he was a voice for worker’s rights. He nearly lost 10 jobs, and Prithviraj Kapoor, helped the family move to Mumbai.
Boney narrated, “My father was brought to Bombay by Prithviraj Kapoor. My grandfather handed over my father to Prithviraj ji because my father left about 10-12 jobs. Left, in the sense, he was thrown out because he was siding with and supporting the workers, and fought their causes.”
However, the family was determined to overcome this phase. He added, “When my grandmother passed away, Anil and I decided that he will do acting and I will take over the production. Somebody had to run the show at home also. My father had a heart problem, we didn’t want to give him stress.”
For a while, the family resided in the outhouse of Raj Kapoor, that was designed for servants and drivers. The path was full of struggle, yet they survived. His latest project ‘Maidaan’ stars Ajay Devgn and Priyamani, is doing well at the box office.
