As the second wave of novel corona virus continues to grim across India, the need of the hour is to stay at home and follow all the necessary protocols. Apart from following all the necessary precautions, it is important that we focus on boosting our Immunity.

Did you know that a simple bowl of broccoli and bell peppers salad can help you to build your immunity? Well, the answer is yes. This salad is packed with lots of vitamin C, minerals, fibers and antioxidants.

What all you need?

1 cup of broccoli

1 cup of bell peppers (red, yellow, green, orange)

How to make the salad?

Wash all your veggies thoroughly with drinking water. Then boil the broccoli in water for a minute and add them with chopped bell peppers. Or you can use raw broccoli, as they have much more nutrients in it. The more you use raw vegetables, the better nutrients your body will receive. For the salad dressing, drizzle some olive oil in the bowl and oregano powder as per taste. Mix all the ingredients well and serve.

Salad is much more effective when you have it as a meal instead of combining it with a meal. Replace your complete meal of lunch with this bowl of salad or you can even have it in dinner with a bowl of soup. It will help to boost your immunity. 

Why broccoli and bell peppers?

Broccoli in itself is a powerhouse full of vitamins, minerals, fiber and antioxidants. They rich source of vitamin C, calcium and fibers. The best part of having broccoli is that you can consume it raw without cooking it.

 Bell peppers are a rich source of vitamin C, vitamin K and antioxidants. They are low in carbs and therefore do not raise blood glucose levels. Bell peppers are not just visually appealing but also good for your eyes too, as they contain antioxidant named, lutein, which protects eyes from cataracts. It is also rich source of beta carotene which is a pro-vitamin A required for healthy eyes.
