It is being said that BTS and their single ‘Butter’ will go down in history as one of the most popular and amazing music band and single respectively. As the charts change course every day, BTS has managed to capture the 1st position of the Billboards Hot 100 charts for 10 weeks in total! The one week that Butter didn’t hold the position, it was taken by another BTS single ‘Permission to Dance’!
However, for 8 consecutive weeks, no song was able to overtake BTS’ Butter. The Billboards team officially announced that BTS’s hit single “Butter” had remained No. 1 on its famous Hot 100 chart—its weekly ranking of the most popular songs in the United States—for the ninth non-consecutive week.
With this, BTS has dethroned Olivia Rodrigo. Butter has now taken Drivers License’s place as the longest-running No. 1 hit of 2021. MRC Data (formerly Nielsen Music) also revealed that Butter has had 30.5 million radio airplay audience impressions, 8.1 million streams, and 112,900 downloads, meaning that it held onto its spot at No. 1 on Billboard’s Digital Song Sales chart for the ninth non-consecutive week as well.
As Butter breaks more and more records, Permission to Dance firmly stands at position 9 in the Billboards Hot 100 charts.
