Sonu Sood is an Indian actor, a model, a film producer, a humanitarian and a philanthropist who has touched numerous lives. Born in the district of Moga, Sonu belongs to a humble background. His mother was a professor and his father owned a cloth store. An engineer by profession, he dared to dream and started his acting career in Mumbai.
The event was captioned “Metamorphosis of a Hero” and hearing him talk, I felt rightly so. The talk was moderated by Divya Oswal (Past chairperson) and Neha Gupta (Present chairperson) and the members were elated to meet the man who has been working endlessly to help those in need. A superman, a messiah yet totally humble, it was a privilege to hear him take us through his journey in the world of cinema and the humanitarian initiatives taken by him and his team. Sonu Sood recalled his childhood days and said his life journey is “incomplete without Ludhiana.” Feeling nostalgic, he said the city had come a long way in fashion, fitness and even the shops had changed.
His mother played a pivotal role in his life, the woman who motivated him to serve society to the best of his abilities. Having found a new calling during the pandemic, Sonu said reel life is very different from real life where there is only ‘action’ and no lights or camera. Daily about 400 people come to his house seeking help either in terms of health, education and jobs and he and his team do their utmost to help all of them.
He said, “To take the plunge and connect with the common man has been my biggest achievement and seeing the smile on people’s face has been my biggest reward.”
I felt very inspired to do my bit to contribute towards mankind after hearing him talk. Thankyou Ficci Flo Ludhiana!!
