Chris Martin from Coldplay recently collaborated with BTS to produce a hit single titled ‘My Universe’. The song is gaining a lot of attention from the listeners. In the group’s new “Inside ‘My Universe’ Documentary,” Martin spoke about why he admires BTS so much!
Chris talked about how he likes a lot of the music that BTS has produced. Martin says BTS’s music has “incredible production.” He talked about how BTS members handle the songwriting, composition, and production skills of their tracks so well. The group has also worked with amazing Korean producers like Pdogg (who has five songwriting trophies to his name). Not only that, BTS supposedly has “very unusual structures and different melodies to the ones I hear.”
Producer Rodnae “Chikk” Bell of Rolling Stone once pointed out that, “Korean pop music likes differentiation and changes. The average American song is four melodies, maybe five. The average K-pop song is eight to 10.”
Chris particularly talked about BTS’ ‘Mic Drop’. “It’s not something we could ever do,” the Coldplay singer admitted, “So I admire it because it’s a different skill.”
Then he went on to talk about how BTS’ working style and composure is great too. He was surprised to see “how everyone’s very individual, but they still work as a group.”
