Ananya Panday and Aditya Roy Kapur have been seen together very often. In an interview with Lehren Retro, father Chunky Panday said, his daughter is free to do what she wants.
When Chunky was questioned about Ananya talking freely about her relationship with Aditya, he said, “I mean its fine. I think she is 25, she is earning more money than I did. She is free to do what she wants. How dare I tell my 25-year-old daughter what to do.”
Talking about their conflict of interest, as per film-related issues, he said, “I am from the old school. Mujhe commercial cinema bohot pasand hai. Mere sabse jyada jhagre jo Ananya ke saath hote hai where I tell her to do commercial cinema (I love commercial cinema and my fights with Ananya is trying to tell her to do more of those kind of roles). She tells, ‘Papa mein karungi (I will do it, Dad, lekin first let me establish myself as an actor.’ We never thought of all that in our age.”
On talking about Ananya doing bold scenes in films, he says, “Yes, I am fine with it. I have seen it in Hollywood. There is no harm. You have to accept it.”
On talking about his relationship with his girls, he says, “Both my girls are really close to Bhavana. Whenever they need something then papa gets a call. But otherwise, they are very close to their mother. Of course, Bhavana is closer to their age. I am always there when advice is needed.”
