The decision will also alter public image of one of the world’s most important film industries. Karnesh’s production business, Clean Slate Filmz, just secured a $54 million content contract with Amazon Prime and Netflix.
Karnesh was raised in a home where women were encouraged to break through obstacles. As a result, he made it his duty to utilize entertainment to not only entertain, but also to educate audiences about real-life issues, particularly those that affect girls and women. Karnesh has also been praised for creating controversial content that emphasizes the female perspective on topics like honor murders, child marriages, and domestic abuse. Clean OTT’s objective is to curate meaningful narratives with female protagonists, avoiding the infamous ‘male gaze’ criterion.
