Money Heist fans will be left with a Salvador Dal mask-shaped hole in their hearts when the fifth season ends in 2021. As a result, fans will be overjoyed to discover that they will soon be able to relive the enchantment owing to Netflix’s announcement of a Korean version of the Spanish crime thriller.

The popularity of South Korean media, particularly K-Dramas, has exploded in the last decade. Netflix has made a significant effort to acquire some of the greatest and most recent K-Dramas available, quickly establishing itself as one of the top streaming providers for K-Drama-related material. The inclusion of the Korean adaptation of Money Heist to Netflix’s collection only adds to its worth.

Kim Hong-sun, who has worked on K-Dramas such as Voice and The Guest, will direct the series. Ryu Yong-jae, the screenwriter for the Netflix Original series My Holo Love, will compose the screenplay for the next adaptation. The series will be produced by BH Entertainment and Content Zium in partnership.

The K-Drama has been under pre-production since August 18th. The series began production in Seoul, South Korea, only a few weeks later, on September 4th, 2021. We don’t know when filming will wrap, but with three months already under our belts, we expect production to be more than halfway over. Money Heist will not be released in the first half of 2022, since the production is now in the middle of filming. It’s more likely that the show will premiere between October and December of 2022.

Money Heist will include a total of 12 episodes in its initial season. Each episode will be 60 minutes in length.
