(G)I-DLE’s Soojin has decided to leave.  This has been announced by CUBE Entertainment on August 14, Henceforth, (G)I-DLE will be promoted as five members. CUBE Entertainment apologized to fans of (G)I-DLE for causing them concern.  Fans were assured that the group will continue to grow musically in the future.

This comes after Soojin’s bullying controversy. On February 20, (G)I-DLE’s Soojin was accused of school bullying by a former classmate. Another person claimed she bullied the actress Seo Shin Ae – who attended the same school.  Although Soojin and CUBE Entertainment denied the rumors, Soojin has been on a timeout since the controversy.

The news of Soojin’s separation comes as a shock (G)I-DLE’s fandom.  They were hoping for the matter to be resolved.  After Soojin leaving the group, there seems to be no possibility.

(G)I-DLE is a multi-national K-pop group that debuted on May 2, 2018. Their first single Latata from their first extended play ‘I Am. In mid-2019, the group debuted in Japan under U-Cube with ‘Latata’. Since their debut, the group has released six extended plays and eight singles.  This includes ‘Latata’, ‘Senorita’, ‘Uh-Oh’, ‘Lion’, ‘Oh My God’, ‘Dumdi Dumdi’ and ‘Hwaa’.
